I am currently a Lecturer of Political Science at the University of California, Merced. Beginning in the fall of 2019, I will be joining the Department of Political Science at Texas State University, San Marcos as an Assistant Professor. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Nebraska in May 2017.
My research interests include African politics, authoritarian regimes, democratization, government stability, and the political economy of development. My work has been published or is forthcoming in the British Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, the Journal of Peace Research, the European Journal of Political Economy, and Democratization.
