I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Texas State University, San Marcos. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Nebraska in May 2017. Prior to joining the faculty at Texas State, I spent two years as a Lecturer at the University of California, Merced.
My research interests include African politics, authoritarian regimes, democratization, government stability, and the political economy of development. My work has been published in the British Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, the Journal of Peace Research, the European Journal of Political Economy, and Democratization.
